Preface
We realize that an electrical problem that involves sparks, smoke, or a burning smell is usually an issue that needs immediate attention. For that reason, we have 24 hour immediate service available.
After hours, you will be connected with a real, licensed electrician (usually me) who can assess the situation over the phone, and tell you if a call to the fire department is necessary to make the situation safe.
When emergency service is needed, our average response time is less than 60 minutes.
Electrical Problems
We frequently get calls to diagnose and correct problems such as a light switch not working correctly, or an area of the home without power. These issues fall under troubleshooting and repair.
It's the troubleshooting part that can get tricky, The repair part almost always takes only a few minutes, but finding the cause of the problem is the challenge. Unfortunately, free estimates are not conducive to this process, and I admit that some callers get dismayed by that fact.
It still doesn't hurt to ask though. At least we can determine over the phone whether your electrical problem is an emergency or non-emergency. Standard troubleshooting and repair service calls are usually scheduled for the next day and our rates are published on our electrical services web site.
