When you are planning a home remodeling project, children and pets are among the items that should be discussed when you have either or both in your home. Most contractors are good with children and pets; they typically have their own.
However, it is necessary that they not be permitted in a construction area and experienced contractors have effective precautions to insure everyone's safety. Kids and pets are naturally curious, but we have to satisfy that curiosity only when the safety hazards have been removed.
The fact is, there are numerous dangers to children and pets in an active work area. These can include exposed high voltage wires, nail guns, power tools, caustic chemicals, and much more. In addition, we sometimes have a door open while moving materials in and out of your house. We certainly don't want to be responsible for accidentally having your pet escape.
Our company removes the hazards before leaving for the day whenever possible. When this is not possible, we cordon off a dangerous area to account for the curiosity of kids and pets. We do always advise caution which will be discussed with you on any remodeling project.
